Henry Ward Beecher papers and Plymouth Church materials, [ca. 1839-1887].

Papers include manuscripts of Beecher's lectures on such topics as slavery, the Civil War, power, credit, the uses of the beautiful, other topics, notes, and some correspondence, 1840-1887; and his manuscripts of sermons, preached 1839-1879, some incomplete. Also two photo albums containing cartes de visite portraits of European royalty, George A. Bell and members of the Bell family, and members of the Brown, Barton, Bergen, and other families taken by Brooklyn photographers ca. 1860's-1870's.

Eunice White Bullard born in West Sutton, Massachusetts, 26 August 1812. She was the daughter of Dr. Artemas Bullard, and was educated in Hadley, Massachusetts. When Henry Ward Beecher, a clergyman, settled in his pastorate in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, in 1837, he returned east to marry Eunice, having been engaged to her for over seven years.
